Well it is has definitely been a while since I wrote my last blogpost and that is due to a very hectic 3 months. There has been a trip to New York, Goldsmiths’ Fair, launching 3 new colours, running a kickstarter campaign to buy a PUK welder and much, much more!
Let’s start with the PUK welder - for all of you that followed my campaign to buy this piece of kit, will know I was successful in securing the £2500! This was a total mission and something I would be hesitant to do again, however it has allowed me to purchase a PUK welder which now sits proudly in my studio! This pieces of kit is enabling me to make all the new pieces you will have seen from my studio in the past few months and I see a really exciting future of development.
Next is New York! I returned to the Big Apple to exhibit at NY NOW for the second time this year. It was like a different city, instead of -7 it was 32 degrees and a girl coming from the Isle of Skye wasn’t quite ready for that! However, we soldiered on and set up the show with time to spare to explore! I exhibit with around 20-25 different British brands which helps us stand out among the hundreds of brands that exhibit at the show. I gained 3 new stockists, which you can find on my stockist page, in a variety of places across America. I love meeting new stockists and this was a perfect opportunity to develop new work and introduce my new 3 colours which made their debut at the show.
The end of August brought a mini holiday, turning another year older and preparations for Goldsmiths’ Fair. This was my 4th time exhibiting at the fair and after a break last year I was really excited to be back at the show. I always like to really push myself for this show and was really happy with the new pieces that I can add to my collection. I particularly focussed on one-off pieces, including the necklace at the start of this post and the earrings below.
I introduced 3 new colours to my stainless steel range in August and am really looking forward to my upcoming shows in November to showcase them! They are Mustard, Creel Green and Burnt Red and I think the burnt read is my favourite! Have a look at my events page to see where I am exhibiting in the next few weeks and get in touch if there is anything you would like customised.
Thank you for reading and I hope that brings us all up to date!
