A little late to say happy New Year?

Heather McDermott February 6, 2019

I always think January is such a long month and then before I know it, it has flown past and it’s already February. The year was started with my annual Trade show in London and general recuperating from the run up to Christmas. I want to say a huge thank you for all of your support last year, I achieved some big goals within my business such as the purchasing of a major piece of kit which I crowdfunded for, 2 trips to New York to exhibit at a Trade show over there, exhibiting again at Goldsmiths Fair and lots more!

I have started this year with a period of reflection on what worked and didn’t work last year! I always like to set myself goals for the year and I’m always trying to pinpoint what and where I want my business to go!

So with that in mind I wanted to let you know about some of the things I am hoping to change in the next few months that you can look out for….

  1. Become more eco-friendly - I have been researching new packaging which will soon be put in place of my current system. Overall I am trying to eliminate single use plastics within my packaging, materials and trying to use companies also enforcing this within their own businesses.

2. Video - I have been working on new ways of communicating with you all and I think video is great way of doing this. I’ll be focussing on videos of my jewellery to help convey scale and how to wear but I am also wanting to do mini documentaries about other makers that I meet throughout the year! There are so many great makers all over the country and promoting handmade is what I’d really like to focus on!

3. Wedding bands - Over the past few years I have worked with quite a few couples in making their wedding bands. Some have been personalised with engraving, others with unique finishes and It’s here that I want to create a range of ready to buy handmade wedding bands using my signature distressed finish. If you are interested in having your wedding bands made then please feel free to get in touch. You can see some of the wedding bands I have made over in my new section - Wedding…

I hope to share lots of exciting things coming up with you and there is a number of ways you can keep informed. I update my Instagram and Facebook regularly so if you would like to see uniques updates then head over to them and give me a follow.
