I am a firm believer in exploring whats on your doorstep and although Northumberland is a bit of drive from Skye it didn't disappoint! I have only ever visited the east coastline of this beautiful county - Bamburgh, Warkworth, Anwick, to name a few so this time I decided to visit inland.
Corbridge, Hexham, Hadrians Wall, a pub lunch in Haydon bridge and stunning scenery - what more could you ask of a weekend away!?
Some places to definitely recommend if you are ever heading to these parts -
RE, Corbridge - http://www.re-foundobjects.com/
Corbridge in general where I would say 90% of the shops are all independent and have an amazing bakery called Grants!
A windy walk along Hadrians wall - spectacular views across the countryside!
A wander through Hexham into the little galleries, bookshops and independent shops
